The first semester of intermediate French combines a comprehensive review and fine-tuning of grammar with readings in literature and culture and expanded vocabulary practice. Learner-centered activities and discussions develop reading, writing, speaking, and argumentative skills. Partner and group work enhance conversational and negotiating skills. Students successfully completing French III will demonstrate a strong general grasp of grammar and vocabulary, and acquire the basic tools to read and discuss more sophisticated texts in French.
