QR Codes

Created in 1994 by DENSO WAVE for use in automotive manufacturing, QR codes are a two-dimensional barcode that can carry many types of information and can be printed on many different mediums. These complex barcodes have recently moved from industrial use to advertising due to the fact that they can be easily read using the smartphones that have become ubiquitous in our daily lives. These codes are easy to add to any print advertising that a company already produces and most smartphones come from the manufacturer ready to scan the QR codes. With a quick scan of the code, a potential consumer can be opened up to loads of information which can lead to that consumer purchasing from that company then or in the future.
