Check your study habits frequently. They can always be improved.
Try something different.
The following is a partial list of guidelines.
Not everyone needs to do everything on the list to do well in a class,
and some of us need to do more.
Suggestions for Good Study Habits
Before class
read the text or lab material that will be covered in class
actively, making notes while reading
prepare to ask questions
During class
attend in an alert state of mind
actively listen
take good notes
ask questions when appropriate
This may mean exposing your ignorance.
After class
re-read the material that was covered in class
actively, making notes while reading
Do homework
as assigned in a timely fashion
more than is assigned when necessary
Read over your notes,
rewrite as necessary
Study at least a little almost every day/night
See the professor in office hours or by appointment when necessary
See the tutors
Work with a variety of study buddies
When working within a group,
make sure you understand everything,
even if the work were distributed.
This may mean exposing your ignorance and asking questions.
Meet outside of class, too.
Be patient with and respectful of each other.
After an exam
work with the key
ask the professor when clarification is needed
rework the problems
